One of the goals of the Miami Arts & Humanities Council is to establish a network of local artists, in all disciplines, to foster collaboration opportunities between artists, government entities, and local businesses in the 66 Cultural District. Our 66 Cultural District is being developed through an initiative of the Oklahoma Arts Council. Funding for the project is provided through the Oklahoma Arts Council and the Mid-America Arts Alliance. The Oklahoma Arts Council is the official state agency for the support and development of the arts. The agency’s mission is to lead in the advancement of Oklahoma’s thriving arts industry. The Oklahoma Arts Council provides approximately 500 grants to almost 250 organizations in communities statewide each year, organizes professional development opportunities for the state’s arts and cultural industry, and manages hundreds of works of art in the public spaces of the state Capitol. Additional information is available at arts.ok.gov. The Mid-America Arts Alliance is a nonprofit, regional arts organization—representing Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas—that focuses on strengthening communities and improving lives through extraordinary cultural experiences.
Through our signature events, we provide artists the chance to sell and display their work in front of a curated audience.
As our network grows, we plan to provide meet-ups and monthly communication to connect artists to one another and to keep you informed of opportunities to sell, perform, or create.
